Gabriella Lacza

My name is Gabriella Lacza and every morning for the last six years I've woken up to the song "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega. I am currently a graduate student in the Library and Information Studies program at Queen's College, and a conservation assistant at the Frick Art Reference Library. I'm also a practicing artist, currently focusing on working collaboratively with others to make custom clothing for performances. Two years ago I heard someone on the street say to their friend, "You can’t just leave the book under your pillow, you gotta read" — and I think about it all. the. time.

Some of my favorite books I've read recently include:

  • The Idiot by Elif Batuman
  • Death's End by Liu Cixin
  • The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
  • Motherhood by Sheila Heti
  • Draw Your Weapons by Sarah Sentilles
  • The Door by Magda Szabo
  • Sour Heart by Jenny Zhang
